The Black Child

The black child is taught early in school not to value himself. At the start of school he learns how his ancestors were slaves. He learns how he was viewed as less than human and forced to serve the interests of others. Later on he’s taught about how he was oppressed during the civil rights era and denied basic human rights. He’s only praised during black history month for his athletic exploits and his ability to “let freedom ring” through government sponsored speeches. I think it’s time schools incorporate the history of Africans before the slave trade. Teach young black boys and girls about the kings and queens they were….the great scientists & inventors..the explorers …Allow them to learn about WHO THEY ARE and not WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM….Black history month shouldn't be a month long sad story ..digress…
